On September 16th the Interreg Project Transdanube.Pearls (Danube Office Ulm) will organize a bike tour along the Eurovelo 6 cycle path around Ulm (Germany) for the general public. The aim of the event is to present the project topic and its goals to the citizens. The central element of the project is the establishment of a network of destinations (“Transdanube.Pearls”) committed to sustainable mobility for tourists and inhabitants along the Danube which will support cooperation between different stakeholders from the transport and the tourism sector. This network will increase the visibility of the participating destinations offering their visitors the unique possibility to travel the Danube with sustainable means of transport.
In accordance with this years’ EC day theme “To go far, go together”, we want the people to experience the existing offers of sustainable transport, by cycling along the Eurovelo 6 path and using public transport (train, bus, tram) for free. And thus will feel encouraged to travel the entire or at least parts of the Danube region by bike, boat, train etc.
